A new year, new hopes and dreams, new plans, a clean slate full of possibilities. I love opening a brand new, clean calendar at the first of the year and filling in all my family and friends birthdays, anniversaries, vacation plans and parties and looking forward to what may come in this fresh new year. I make resolutions every year, but admittedly, I rarely stick to them. I'm not sure if they are too lofty for my time schedule and abilities, or maybe I lose focus when every day life kicks in. Not sure what happens. So here I am again at the beginning of a fresh new year, looking back at what didn't happen and looking forward to what I hope will happen. We will add two new babies to our family this year. One in February and one in March, both little girls. We are really looking forward to that. But what else lay ahead for us? Kind of exciting to think of what is possible in a whole 12 month cycle.
One of my resolutions is to bring my blog back to life again. I resolve to post at least once a month this year. Surely I can squeeze that into my crazy schedule! I usually work about 50 hours a week at my real job, then streaming and doing videos, designing my stamps and stencils and doing my own art in my spare time, after my family responsibilities of course. There never seems to be enough hours in the day to do everything that I want to do. I'm also resolving to put more focus on my health starting with joining Weight Watchers (AGAIN!) and going to the gym three times a week if only to walk on a treadmill. I also want to come up with a regular Ustream schedule so that my viewers will know when to expect me to be on live. This is really difficult since I never know when I may have to work later than usual. I can't stream during the day since I'm always at the office, so I have to try to squeeze it into an evening during the week, as weekends can be more spontaneous with things to do with family and friends. I'm considering Monday evenings or Sunday afternoons. I'll announce it here and on my Inky Obsessions FaceBook page when I decide.
I'll be having another iStencils release coming in the new year, this one will feature a bunch of new designs I've made especially for the 8" round gelli plate. I'll have some new stamps that match at some point after that launch. I hope to play more with polymer clay tiles, metal embossing, watercolor, gelli printing and more. Lots in my mind, I just need to find the time to make it happen. Am I the only one with this problem???
Here are some things I've been working on over the last several months that I haven't posted:
New cling mount stamps and wine totes with my art prints now on my Etsy Shop:
So for now, I hope you are feeling refreshed and rejuvenated and looking forward to the brand new year. Let's do something fun and creative in 2016! Let's make it count!
Happy Arting,
Patti
Glad you plan to blog this year! I liked seeing some color tiles, even though I do like the black and white one. Lovely artwork, as usual.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Patty! :)
Thanks Rita! Stay tuned...
DeleteLove what you do, but what I love most is your sense of humor, you crack me up.
ReplyDeleteLike you I am a breast cancer survivor and other health problems so you are a great help in making my days a pleasure.
Happy New Year, resolutions are to be made but says we have to follow them!!!
Annie v.
Annie, congrats on winning the battle with the BIG C! I'm so happy I bring you some entertainment. I believe humor is a great healer. Stay tuned, more to come. Happy New Year!
DeletePatti, Happy New Year! It is great to seeing you blog. Two new babies? Fur or non-furry kind!? LOL! Our DD is due today with our first grandbaby, but I think she thinks its too cold out and has opted to stay inside mom! Your almost neighbor, Jeanne.
ReplyDeleteHey Jeanne! Real human babies this time. LOL My niece Chelsea is expecting 25 March and Dave's stepson and his wife are expecting 5 Feb. Really exciting. Happy New Year neighbor!
DeleteOhh, that is wonderful news for your family. March will be here soon!
DeleteI honestly don't know how you fit it all in. I think we are all thinking about how to reorganize and do things differently this year. I started DLP with a bang last year and fizzled in a big way. Keep oh arting my friend.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Patti! All your posted work today is beautiful, creative and professionally done as always. I have a million things going through my mind artwise all the time but I very rarely get to bring these ideas to fruition. At least you seem to complete a lot of your projects. Look forward to playing with you on you tube soon and seeing you at QI sometime in the future. Take care. Sue
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Suzie! Hope to run into you soon!
DeleteVery happy to hear you'll be streaming regularly. Love to learn and laugh at the same time! Any chance your new stencils will also come in a 4" size as well as the 8"? I'm circle crazy so I'm especially excited for this release. Happy new year!
ReplyDeleteI love circles too Liza. I'll see if we can do them in another size. A lot goes into that with programming and packaging too. That is something for iStencils to decide but I will put in the suggestion. By the way, I'll be streaming 1/10 @ 12 Noon EST doing some polymer clay tiles. Hope you can join in the fun.
DeleteHappy New Year! I have well and truly jumped down the Gelli Plate "rabbit hole"! Right after I saw it for the first time I told my husband that this was what I must have for my birthday that was in mid-November. I have experimented with it as often as I can and it's as fun as what I anticipated. Your YouTube Channel was one of the first that I saw when I started researching it and you have shown the limitless possibilities. I love watching your creative process and appreciate your sense of fun while making your art. Thank you for all you do!! Janice
ReplyDeleteHi Janice, Happy New Year! So happy you are enjoying my videos. The gelli plate is surely addicting! Use at your own risk! Thanks for stopping by!
