Artfoamies Meet the Gelli Plate and Upcoming iStencils Sale

Hello again! I'm back as promised, so far so good with my New Year's resolution to post at least once a month on my blog! Yay me!

We are closing in on a date for my next iStencils release! This will come with a discount coupon code or all my viewers and subscribers to take advantage of the entire iStencils website, well over 3,000 designs! My focus on this launch is a new series made especially for the 8" round gelli plate. Of course they can be used on any of the gelli plates or for any other application you would use any stencils for, these just happen to fit the 8" round perfectly. I've also come out with a couple mixed media masks which is pretty exciting. This may happen as early as next weekend, so stay tuned. I'll announce the timing as soon as we confirm the sale dates here on my blog as well as Facebook and Twitter. This is a good time to take advantage of a great sale that only comes around a few times a year. So stay tuned so you don't miss out.

I streamed last Sunday and focused on playing with some new Artfoamie stamps. These stamps are even better than I imagined they would be. Really crisp images and they hold acrylic paint so well you can get multiple prints out of one 'inking'. They are great on the gelli plate too. Check out my YouTube video that I uploaded from the live Ustream broadcast. Here are some pics of my favorite gelli prints from this session:

This is a close up of some really yummy crusty bits on deli paper that I used to pick up a ghost print, then used Daddy Van's All Natural Beeswax Furniture Polish to make the deli paper translucent. This is great for collage fodder. Check out Shannon Green's recent video demo of Daddy Van's, which includes a coupon code for her viewers to get a great discount on your next purchase of Daddy Van's.

This is a ghost print using one of the feather artfoamies.

Love this patina print of the feather artfoamies.

This was one of my stamping off deli papers where I stamped the excess paint the artfoamies were picking up off my gelli plate.

My favorite print of the day -- patina print with the Julie Fei Fan Balzer Artfoamie stamp of numbers.

A cool clean up print from the paint leftover from the patina print shown above.

This was a ghost print using one of Julie Fei Fan Balzer border artfoamies with some Pebeo Studio Acrylic DYNA Color Iridescent paint in Green/Yellow. YUM!

This was another ghost pulled on black bond paper. Really makes the Pebeo's pop.

First pull on deli with multiple impressions of Julie's border stamp. I love the blend of the Pebeo Green/Yellow with their Oriental Purple. Makes a pretty pinky bronze color where they meet.

Stamping off on deli, love these feather stamps.

Look what a crisp image you can get with these stamps. This was a piece of deli I was using to stamp off the excess paint when making the print shown above this one. Nothing is a waste when you can get images like this.

I'm planning to stream live again this Sunday around Noon Eastern, so check out my Ustream channel to be alerted when I schedule an event or go live at any time. Once you get to my channel, just click 'follow' and you will be alerted when there is any activity. Join us live and participate in the chat with lots of other artists of all levels as we laugh, learn, and share information about new products and resources.

Happy Arting!

Patina Gelli Prints & NEW PTP Elements Rubber Stamps Coming Soon!

Hello Everyone!

Quick blog post today to share my YouTube video tutorial on making what I call my Patina Gelli Prints. They really look like old weathered metals that have that lovely patina that's hard to replicate otherwise. This is pretty close for a faux patina look:

You know I'm usually drawn to bright colors, but these have been catching my eye lately and I've received a lot of questions over on my Facebook art page Inky Obsessions, so I thought it was time for a YouTube demo. This is also a good page for you to 'like' if you want to keep up with what I'm doing. I usually post to this FB page first.

I'll be packing up over the weekend for my jaunt to Somerset, NJ for this year's Create Art Retreat! I can't wait to see some old friends and make some new ones. What a great time we have there. Lots of really fun classes with Interweave's top name instructors. Its fun to stay at the event hotel and get to have meals with everyone and the instructors too. We usually spend the evenings hanging out at the hotel bar to mix and mingle.

iStencils.com is sponsoring a table for me to sell my Patti Tolley Parrish Stencils at the Create Vendor Night on Friday 11 July. I will also be selling my PTP Elements Rubber Stamp Sheets and will be introducing my 3rd set at Create! Once I return, these will be for sale in my Etsy Shop -- Inky ObsessionsThis set features a couple of my hand drawn designs -- the poppies and the pictographs. Here's a peek:

Matching iStencils will be coming out sometime in the late summer, so stay tuned for that big release and sale!

For now,

Happy Arting!

Did You Know I Have an Etsy Shop???

You didn't know??? Well if you didn't know, I'm telling you now! I HAVE AN ETSY SHOP! Its Inky Obsessions on Etsy. I sell some of my art pieces here as well as some pieces I've had made using my original artwork, like neoprene wine totes and iPhone cases. Here are some pics of some of the items I have in my shop today:

Here are a few of the neoprene wine totes. Not a wine drinker? (I can't believe I actually just asked that question...but) If you're not, this holds a large bottle of water or soft drinks as well and keeps them cool. Great girlfriend gifts, Mother's Day gifts, Hostess gifts, or a little something pretty for yourself. If you follow me, you'll probably remember the pieces of art or painted papers that I used to make these totes...

My handmade Gelli Notecards and Matching Envelopes are very popular too. These packs of 6 each are handy to have around the house for a quick Thank You note or for a gift as well. Since each is made on my Gelli Plate, each print is unique, so no two cards are alike...

These eight sets are now on my Etsy shop for sale. The pics below shows the cards contained in some of the sets.

I have a couple Gelli Journals left - or as I like to call them - JumpStart Journals. If you have white page syndrome and need a helping hand getting your art journal pages off to a good start, you can use one of my journals with instant backgrounds. The covers on these two journals are also made of fabric I gelli printed. Gelli inside and out...

This is a claybord made using Silks acrylic glazes and bubbling it  up with a heavy duty heat gun - great texture in this piece! My ode to Jodi Ohl!

I hope you'll check out my Etsy Shop Inky Obsessions and maybe even share the link with any friends you know are looking for a one-of-a-kind handmade gift or items for themselves. I'll be adding new items when I have them available including some canvases and collages of various sizes and shapes. Stay tuned.

Thanks again for your support!

Happy Arting!
