Introducing PTP Elements -- Sheets of Deep Etched Red Rubber Stamps!!!

Soooooooooo much going on these days! I can hardly keep up at this rate, but I'm trying like hell! LOL

First -- I've recently introduced my own line of stamps...

PTP Elements !!!

I named the line elements because I'm using the same design elements that I used creating my line of Patti Tolley Parrish Stencils. I'm sure I'm not the first person to come up with this idea, but you know how us mixed media folks love to layer, right? So I thought about layering the same design elements in different sizes with different tools, and each of the tools can be used with a variety of mediums -- that's MIXED MEDIA!

I currently have two different sets available for pre-order on my Etsy Shop -- InkyObsessions. My stamp designs are sold on deeply etched red rubber sheets. This is a lot more economical for you and a lot more storage-friendly than wood mounted individual stamps -- however -- if you are a die hard fan of wood mounted stamps, I can get these for you on a special order for one or all of the designs. Just let me know which design(s) you'd like mounted on wood blocks and I'll get you a quote. Another point to mention -- you will see some designs here and not find matching stencils -- YET! These stencils will be available in future releases. So here are the designs on my first two sets:

SET #1

SET #2

And here are some examples I made on my Ustream the other night playing with the stamps and stencils together. That Ustream is now viewable on YouTube if you are interested in watching.

I LOVE this print. I used the Orbit stencil and this print was picked up with the paint left on the back of the stencil, you can see the shimmer of the Pebeo paint! Yum. Then I stamped using the Orbit stamp on a rainbow in pad I had for years and never opened. I'll be opening that ink pad more! ;o)

I will be playing with my stencils and stamps every chance I get to see what other really cool combos I can come up with! And all the prints I collect from this playing will come in handy -- why you ask???

BECAUSE I JUST HEARD FROM CLOTH PAPER SCISSORS MAGAZINE AND THEY HAVE SELECTED ONE OF MY SUBMISSIONS TO BE PUBLISHED!!!!!! OMG!!! YES!!!

I'll be published in their Nov/Dec issue! Soooo excited. I'm really thrilled with this especially since this was one of my goals for my art this year and I squeaked in just under the wire!

I told you there was a lot going on! So if you are a stamper or mixed media artist and would like to try out my stamps, you can pre-order them here and I'll ship as soon as they arrive.

Thanks so much for your continued support!

Happy Arting!

My First Week as a Stencil Designer! Thank you!

Hi all!

I wanted to take a minute and express my sincere appreciation for everyone that placed an order for my new designs for Patti Tolley Parrish Stencils at www.iStencils.com. The launch was a complete success and exceeded my expectations thanks to all of you who continue to support me in my artistic adventure. Thank you doesn't seem sufficient. I am truly humbled.

I would love to see what you all are doing with my stencils. I wanted to extend an invitation for you to send me some pics of your work using my stencil designs to feature on my blog and FaceBook art page, Inky Obsessions. If you are interested, please leave me a message on this post and I'll give you my email address for the pics.

My latest project -- last summer our friend Jeff had me paint two large canvases for his townhouse he's decorating. Now he's asking me for three smaller pieces with similar colors. This is the first of three:

So fun to use my own stencil designs in my work now. Above is the Infinity stencil.

And this one is the Circle Infinity. I used Viva Decor Modeling Paste in Pearl White thru my stencils to get this look.

This is the second of the three requested pieces, but between you and me, I don't think Jeff will ever see this one hanging on his wall. I really love how it turned out. Funny how sometimes one particular piece just speaks to you. This one is it:

This is a collage and painted canvas. I've used several of my painted papers that you may recognize from previous videos, as well as one of Ellen Vargo's new stamps from PaperArtsy. Not surprisingly they are just as fabulous as she is! If you don't follow her blog, you should really check it out. She recently did her first demo videos for her gig as a guest designer for PaperArtsy, she's a natural.

These are a couple Instagrams I posted of close-ups with filters. Love!

So looks like this weekend will consist of making two more pieces for Jeff! (Shhhh -- don't tell him!)

Happy Arting!

I Can't Believe It's Been This Long!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG! Time does fly. Seriously! I can't believe the last time I posted was in DECEMBER??? WTH? I promise to try to do better at this. There just are not enough hours in a day to do everything I want to do and really need to do! I know I'm not the only one with that problem, but I think its a good problem to have. That means I have a very full life.

One reason for posting today is to share some fabulous news -- now this isn't the big surprise of mine I have been teasing you about. This is about my dear friend Ellen Smith Vargo. You must check out her blog at "ellen vargo ... ten thirty-six art". Ellen recently joined PaperArtsy as a guest designer. If you know Ellen, you know she uses her own hand carved stamps in her artwork. Well, in addition to Ellen designing for PaperArtsy, they recognized the artistic genius in Ellen's stamp carving and decided to produce Ellen's stamps under their Eclectica3 line. And I mean they are not only fabulous, they are MUST-HAVES:

These stamps scream Ellen's distinct style and creativity. They are usable in so many ways that I would never think about. Check out her blog to see how she creates lovely borders and complete backgrounds with these designs. I've placed my order for the entire collection. I hope you will too.

Now, what have I been up to, you ask? Lots! My 'big surprise' isn't quite ready to go public yet, but we are very, very close at this point. Thank God, I'm about to burst about it. I promise I'll share the very minute I get the go ahead!

Dave and I have recently been featured in an article in the Baltimore Sun newspaper. Long story, but the nutshell version is that my breast surgeon, Kristen Fernandez, contacted me several months ago asking if Dave would be willing to be interviewed about male breast cancer. She had been approached by the director of MedStar PR about male patients. Kristen told the director that she had a patient that was married to a male survivor and told her the story of how we met and it became something else. We were on the front page of the Baltimore Sun on Valentine's Day and featured online here. Pretty cool! Next stop The Ellen Show! LOL

Here's some of the art I've been playing with:

I've been doing some collages and painted papers for those collages inspired by Jane Davies. I've also cut some of them up into mini collages. I really like how some of the pieces look when cut up. I'm taking some of Jane's classes this October at Art & Soul in Virginia Beach and can't wait. Here are a couple I've done lately.

After making my first floor cloth (shown in my previous post), I had the idea that I wanted to paint another one for our laundry room. The room is painted taupe with white trim, the washer and dryer are taupe and we have a cornice over the window in a really pretty turquoise that our friend Jodi made. So that was my color scheme for the floor cloth and I bought a blank that was 2.5' x 6', just the right size to go in front of the washer and dryer. Here's how it turned out:

And last but certainly not least, I started my own Etsy Shop, InkyObsessions, where I am selling some of my art pieces as well as some items custom made using prints of my original art, like wine totes and cell phone covers. Here are a few other pieces that are featured in the shop now.  I hope you'll check it out.

That's all for now folks! Stay tuned for more art and fun to come!

Happy Arting,

Patti
